Jason Steussy founded Your Story Video in 2004 after eight years of television news production. A double major in Mass Communications and Studio Art from Moorhead, Minnesota's Concordia College, he started as a photojournalist and reporter at CBS affiliate KXJB-TV in Fargo, North Dakota before moving to NBC affiliate WHO-TV in Des Moines, Iowa. During his news career, he received many awards and recognitions from local, state and regional media organizations, including multiple Best Photography nods, and was a member of WHO's staff for two consecutive winnings of the prestigious National Station of the Year award for excellence in photojournalism from the National Press Photographers' Association. His wife's career in the large-animal veterinary field led to a brief stop at WKBT-TV in La Crosse, Wisconsin before bringing the two of them home to Minnesota, where they now live outside the Twin Cities metro area. Although opting to step out of the "ambulance-chasing" lifestyle of TV news, the daily operations of freelance video production still provide the best parts of a TV job: the opportunity to create beautiful moving images, capture moments with pictures and sound, and tell compelling stories. And knowing how to produce a great-looking, cohesive piece with high-quality equipment in a short amount of time doesn't hurt, either!

Our Panasonic AJ-D700P and AJ-D215P DVC Pro cameras have 3 CCDs (1/2") and premier Fujinon lenses provide clear, vibrant digital images. We have Lectrosonics UHF wireless microphones and Sennheiser shotgun mics for clean, sharp sound. We edit with an Avid digital nonlinear editing system... the same line of products are used to cut many of the "Big Screen's" blockbusters! Rightly so: your story, whether it's a wedding, training video, commercial, or other event, deserves to be a "blockbuster" in its own right.
